The public presentation of the
NEXTGEOSS project will take place
on the 17th of January, 2017,
at the Lisbon Oceanarium

The public presentation of the NEXTGEOSS project will take place next Tueday January 17th 2017 at the Lisbon Oceanarium, as a side event to the project’s official kickoff. The objective of this session is to share with the general public the main highlights of the project, explaining the technologies involved and the impact and benefits it will have in terms of data accessibility.

The opening remarks will be done by Prof. Paulo Ferrão, the President of the Portuguese Funding Agency for Science, Research and Technology (FCT). Eng. José Carlos Caldeira, President of the Portuguese Innovation Agency, will be closing the event in the afternoon.

NextGEOSS has been selected by the European Commission to provide the European hub for EO data distribution. The project will be the European contribution to the global system being put in place by GEO, and will implement a federated data hub for access and exploitation of EO data.
